Tulip Presentation to CCF Main Office!

Today was the last delivery of tulips to the Children Cancer Foundation Main Office at Tiong Bahru Plaza. Five of the SKM leaders went down to present the last tulip presentation to the CCF.

Notes of Kindness Project & YOG Canned Food Logo Formation

Here are some updates of what happened recently:
1) Preparation for Notes of Kindness Project.

2) Notes of Kindness Project.

We had our last project done on Fri where each student from our school are encouraged to write notes of encouragement/gratitude to their individual classmates or as a class. Overall, they did great!

3) YOG Canned Food Logo Formation (THE SINGAPORE BOOKS OF RECORDS!)
At the same time our school have embarked on a project of forming the YOG logo using canned food that were contributed by students & staff of OPSS. The school's Student Leaders then formed the YOG Logo with the most number of canned food and managed to set a record in the Singapore Books of Records.

The canned foods will then be donated to needy families out there! :)

Tulips Presentation to CCF NUH!

Heyy there, we are back with our latest upcomings on the project!
Basically, today two of our SKM leaders travelled down to National University Hospital(NUH) along with Ms Kathy Xu to present the tulips installation to the Children Cancer Foundation(CCF) Family Support Centre.

On the 25th May, the student volunteers came together to install the paper tulips that have been fold together as a school. We decided to form a big heart shape using the folded paper tulips. Above are the pictures of what we did:)

Visit to Sree Narayana Mission Home

Visit to All Saint Home for the elderly on 15/3/10

Students of OPSS done KIND DEEDS. Some of it are students visited the old folks home, collecting plastic bottles, newspapers and cleaning up the beach. Some CCAs have also organised fund raising for the needies students in our school. We hope that KINDNESS will continue to spread! Those pictures up there are students who went to All Saints Home and Sree Narayana Mission Home to accompany the old folks.

Tulips-making session for CCF!

April, we had an assembly programme where the school was informed about the Singapore Kindness Movement Project which the five of us are embarking on. We proceed on with the folding of paper tulips in the school hall for the children from the Children Cancer Foundation. Students and teachers were given coloured paper and together as a school, we started folding. They were guide through in the process of folding the paper tulips with the help of student volunteers. These student volunteers went around to offer a helping hand. After a hard time of trying to fold the paper tulips, their perseverance paid off as both teachers and students managed to fold the paper tulips successfully. Well Done!

Hello Viewers, welcome to the Orchid Park Secondary School's Kindness Blog.
What is it all about:
-5 students were selected to represent the school to attend the Singapore Kindness Movement Project.
-Attended a workshop under the Singapore Kindness Movement and were given a task to create awareness in the own school to show acts of kindness.
What we planned to do:
-Will be working together with the Children Cancer Foundation {CCF}.
-Will be making paper tulips to show kindness to the children from the CCF and to raise awareness about these children.
-Other than this, students will write words of encouragement to their fellow schoolmates every three weeks. This is to promote kindness among the students.

This blog is specially set up to showcase the process involved in making this project a successful one.
